Terms of service.

The short version
Rydiq is a service operated by us for cyclists. By creating an account or uploading footage you're agreeing to the terms below. They describe what we promise to do, what you promise to do, and what happens if something goes sideways. If anything here is unclear, email support@rydiq.org and we'll explain in plain English.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything that happens under your account. If you suspect someone else has access, change your password and email us.
- You need to be 16 or older to use Rydiq.
- One account per person. You can use it on multiple devices, but don't share credentials with anyone you wouldn't hand your keys to.
What you upload
- You own your footage.Uploading a ride to Rydiq doesn't transfer ownership. You're granting us only the rights we need to store, process, and serve it back to you, plus the limited engineering review described in the privacy policy.
- You need the right to upload it.Don't upload video that isn't yours or that you don't have permission to record (some jurisdictions treat helmet-cam footage differently than others, this is your call).
- No illegal content. The service isn't for harassment, stalking, doxxing, or material that violates applicable law. Reports from the platform are intended to be shared with you and with law enforcement / your insurance, not weaponised against private individuals.
Accuracy of analysis
Rydiq's pipeline detects close passes, measures lateral clearance, identifies vehicles, and reads license plates using a mix of computer vision and language models. We work hard to be accurate, but no automated system is perfect:
- Distance estimates are calibrated to the camera + mount you select on upload. Mis-selecting the preset, lens distortion, and partial occlusion can all shift the numbers. We surface confidence levels so you can weigh each reading.
- License plate reads can be wrong. Treat any plate the platform returns as a lead worth verifying, not a fact.
- Vehicle make / model classifications are best-effort and include explicit confidence ratings.
You're responsible for verifying anything before relying on it in a legal context.
Paying for the service
- The free tier gives you 120 analysed minutes a month. Paid tiers raise the cap and unlock plate recognition; current pricing is on the pricing page.
- Subscriptions renew monthly unless you cancel. You can cancel from Settings at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
- We don't pro-rate refunds for partial months, but if something goes wrong on our side that prevented you from using the service, email us and we'll make it right.
Service availability
We aim for high uptime but we can't promise the service is never going to be unavailable. Maintenance windows, third-party outages, and the occasional bug happen. We'll communicate proactively when we know about a degradation, and we'll always keep your data safe even when the service is briefly unreachable.
Termination
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. See the privacy policy for how long it takes us to wipe your data.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms (uploading content that isn't yours, abusing the service to harass others, payment failure that isn't resolved within thirty days). We'll usually warn before terminating unless the violation is severe.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Rydiq is provided "as is". We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Nothing in this section limits liability for things the law doesn't let us limit (fraud, gross negligence, certain consumer rights depending on your jurisdiction).
Changes to these terms
If we change anything material we'll email every active account at least thirty days before the change takes effect, so you have time to decide whether to keep using the service.
